Good family. I am seeking a job as a Live-in Caregiver. I am an enthusiastic, positive, motivated and committed individual with good communication skills. Supporting children, the elderly, and persons with learning disability through dignity and respect is my passion. My core values are being kind, honest, caring and dedicated.
For the past 10 years, I have done an excellent job at supporting the elderly, and persons with a learning disability. I ensured that my surroundings are clean, safe and attractive. Planning and preparing nutritious meals are among my specialities. I am also good at assisting with personal hygiene as well as organizing activities and outings while maintaining a safe and healthy environment. I have also been educating and motivating children and adults.
I have also had over 30 years’ experience doing clerical jobs. I have a YouTube Channel, The Basic English and Mathematics Diva’, where I try to educate and motivate both children and adults.
Courses that I have done which will help me to succeed as your employee are: Six Month's Caregiver; An Introduction to Health and Social Care; Perspectives in Health and Social Care; Health and Illness; Adult Health, Social Care and Wellbeing; Promoting Public health – Skills, Perspectives and Practice; and Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.
In addition, I have learnt about the Social Model of Disability which proposes to enable disabled people to have equal opportunities as able-bodied people and which campaigns for the inclusion of disabled people in an enabling environment. This knowledge ensures that I contribute towards social behaviour and development while helping persons to cope if they are in a bad mood. Having a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care and a Certificate in Promoting Public Health have made me aware of safety, good hygiene and the total health and well-being of clients and staff.
I have also done the following course with the National Extension College (NEC): A Taste of Counselling, which influences my ability to support persons by examining issues that they are experiencing and help them to identify choices for a positive outcome.
