Introduction
My name is Jernaya, and I am a 24-year-old internationally minded university graduate from Trinidad and Tobago seeking and au pair placement in France or Germany. Since 2022, my mother migrated for work and I assumed responsibility of my younger brother who was 10 years old at the time. This allowed me to develop a strong sense of responsibility and I enjoyed taking care of him while creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for him in the absence of both his parents. I also frequently babysit my niece and nephews (currently ages 4, 7 and 14) as I work from home.
I would love the opportunity to experience French or German culture, improve my language skills and become part of a welcoming family. My professional experience has strengthened my organizational skills, adaptability, and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds, which would be very useful when looking after your children.
I am particularly interested in caring for school-aged children as this is where I have the most experience. I would enjoy helping with their daily routines, school pick-ups, homework, and creative activities, same as what I have been doing with my younger brother, niece and nephews for the past 4 years. I am looking for a placement where expectations are clearly communicated, childcare responsibilities are structured, and both the family and myself can enjoy meaningful cultural exchange.
